San Carlos Healthcare Center

This 184,000 sq/ft project is a replacement hospital campus for the San Carlos Apache Tribe. The project is the first campus project in the Indian community that consists of five buildings situated on a 50-acre site. The buildings are an Ambulatory Hospital, Behavior Health building, Dentistry building, Public Health building, and EMS building. The hospital portion of the project utilizes the new chronic care model reducing wait time of the patient by bringing individual care disciplines to the patient. Departments within the hospital are emergency, imaging, physical therapy, laboratory, podiatry & audiology, administration, dietary, pharmacy, labor and delivery, patient beds and procedure rooms. The project meets the mandated energy reduction of 30% and is seeking to be LEED certified. The focus of the project is to bring the standard of care from what is seen in the private sector to the IHS funded projects creating a healing environment that embraces the community’s culture.
